Canon PIXMA TR4520 Offline Fix – Step-by-Step
Category: Troubleshooting · Brand: Canon
The Canon PIXMA TR4520 is a wireless all-in-one, and an offline status is one of the most common issues users report. It's almost always a network or driver issue — not a hardware failure.
Quick Check: Is the TR4520 Connected to Wi-Fi?
- On the printer, press Setup (wrench icon) > Device Settings > LAN settings > Wireless LAN setup
- Or print a Network Configuration Page: hold the Stop button for 5 seconds
- Confirm the printer shows a valid IP address on the printout
Fix 1: Set Printer Online in Windows
- Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers
- Right-click Canon PIXMA TR4520
- Click See what's printing > Printer in the menu bar
- If Use Printer Offline is checked — click it to uncheck
- Try printing
Fix 2: Clear the Print Queue
- In the print queue, click Printer > Cancel All Documents
- Press Windows + R > services.msc
- Find Print Spooler > right-click > Restart
Fix 3: Reconnect to Wi-Fi
If the TR4520 dropped from your network:
- Press Setup > Device Settings > LAN settings > Wireless LAN setup
- Select Standard setup
- Choose your Wi-Fi network and enter the password
Fix 4: Update the Port IP Address
After a router restart, the printer's IP may have changed:
- Print a Network Configuration Page (hold Stop 5 seconds) to find the new IP
- Control Panel > Devices and Printers > right-click TR4520 > Printer properties > Ports
- Select the port > Configure Port > update the IP address
Fix 5: Remove and Re-add the Printer
- Right-click Canon PIXMA TR4520 > Remove device
- Add a printer > The printer I want isn't listed
- Add a printer using TCP/IP address > enter the IP from the Network Configuration Page
