Epson EcoTank ET-4850 Setup Guide – WiFi, Driver & First Print
Category: Setup · Brand: Epson
The Epson EcoTank ET-4850 is a premium all-in-one with refillable ink tanks. Initial setup takes 15–20 minutes, mostly for filling the tanks.
Step 1: Unbox and Fill the Ink Tanks
- Remove all packing tape and protective foam from the printer
- Lift the scanner unit and locate the four ink tanks on the left side
- Open each tank cap and fill using the matching color ink bottle — each bottle is keyed to its color so you can't accidentally fill the wrong tank
- Fill each tank to the upper line (do not overfill)
- Close all tank caps
Step 2: Initial Ink Charging
- Power on the ET-4850 — the printer will begin charging the ink system automatically
- This takes approximately 10–15 minutes — do not power off during this process
- The printer will print a test pattern to confirm the ink is flowing
Step 3: Connect to WiFi
Using the control panel:
- On the touchscreen, tap the network icon or go to Settings > Wi-Fi Setup > Wi-Fi Setup Wizard
- Select your Wi-Fi network
- Enter your password using the on-screen keyboard
- Tap OK — the network icon turns solid when connected
Using WPS:
- Tap Settings > Wi-Fi Setup > WPS (Push Button)
- Press the WPS button on your router within 2 minutes
Step 4: Install the Driver
