How to Find the IP Address of HP Printer – All Methods

Category: How-To · Brand: HP

Finding your HP printer's IP address can be done several ways depending on your printer model and how it's connected.

Method 1: HP Printer Control Panel Display

Most HP printers with LCD or touchscreens show the IP directly:

  • Tap or navigate to the Wireless or Network icon
  • The IP address (e.g., 192.168.0.14) displays in the connection details

Method 2: Print the Network Configuration Report

On any HP printer:

  1. Press Wireless button and hold 3 seconds, OR navigate to Setup > Reports > Wireless Network Test Report
  2. The printed page shows IP address, SSID, and connection status

Method 3: HP Smart App

  1. Open HP Smart on any device
  2. Your connected HP printer is shown with its network details including IP

Method 4: Windows Settings

  1. Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners
  2. Select your HP printer → Printer properties
  3. Go to Ports tab — the IP is in the port name

Method 5: Command Prompt Ping (if you know the hostname)

ping HPxxxxxx.local

Replace HPxxxxxx with your printer's hostname (usually found on the network config report). The ping response shows the IP.
