How to Fix Lexmark Printer Offline Issue
Category: Troubleshooting · Brand: Lexmark
A Lexmark printer showing as offline in Windows or Mac can't receive print jobs until the connection is restored.
Quick Checks
- Is the printer powered on and showing a ready status?
- Is the WiFi light solid (not blinking or off)?
- Are the printer and computer on the same network?
Fix 1: Set Lexmark Printer Online (Windows)
- Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners
- Select your Lexmark printer
- Click Open print queue
- Click Printer in the menu bar
- Uncheck Use Printer Offline
Fix 2: Restart Spooler and Printer
net stop spooler
net start spoolerThen restart the Lexmark printer and wait for it to fully initialize.
Fix 3: Remove and Re-add Printer
- Remove the Lexmark from Printers & scanners
- Restart the printer
- Click Add device and re-add it
Fix 4: Update the IP Address Port (Windows)
If the printer's IP address has changed (dynamic IP):
- Open Printer Properties > Ports tab
- Select the port being used
- Click Configure Port and update the IP address to match the current IP
- Click OK
Fix 5: Assign Static IP
Log into your router and assign a static/reserved IP to the Lexmark printer by MAC address. This prevents IP changes that cause offline errors.
