How to Set Up Kyocera Printer on WiFi

Category: Setup · Brand: Kyocera

Most Kyocera ECOSYS models support wireless networking. Setting up Wi-Fi takes a few minutes through the printer's control panel.

Before You Start

You will need:

  • Your Wi-Fi network name (SSID)
  • Your Wi-Fi password
  • The printer powered on and within range of your router

Method 1: Wi-Fi Setup via Control Panel

  1. On the printer's control panel, press Menu
  2. Navigate to Network Settings (or Network > Wireless LAN depending on model)
  3. Select Wireless LAN Setup or Wi-Fi Quick Setup
  4. The printer will scan for available networks — select yours from the list
  5. Enter your Wi-Fi password using the keypad or touchscreen
  6. Confirm and press OK or Connect
  7. The wireless indicator light will blink, then stay solid when connected

After connecting, print a Network Status Page (Menu > Report > Network Status) to confirm the printer received an IP address.

Method 2: WPS Push Button (Fastest)

If your router has a WPS button:

  1. Press the WPS button on your router
  2. Within 2 minutes, go to the printer menu: Network > Wireless LAN > WPS > Push Button
  3. Press OK to start — the printer connects automatically

Method 3: Kyocera Net Viewer (Windows)

Kyocera Net Viewer is a free utility that can configure network settings remotely:

  1. Download Kyocera Net Viewer from the Kyocera support site
  2. Connect the printer via USB temporarily
  3. Open Net Viewer and navigate to Network Settings > Wireless
  4. Enter your SSID and password, then apply
  5. Disconnect the USB — the printer will now use Wi-Fi

Connecting Your Computer to the Wi-Fi Printer

After the printer is connected to Wi-Fi:

  1. Install the Kyocera driver (see the Kyocera Driver Download guide)
  2. During installation, select Network as the connection type
  3. The installer will detect the printer by IP address automatically

Troubleshooting

Printer won't find the network: Make sure you are connecting to a 2.4GHz network — many Kyocera printers do not support 5GHz Wi-Fi.

IP address keeps changing: Set a static IP on the printer: Menu > Network > TCP/IP > IP Address — choose a number outside your router's DHCP range.
