How to Set Up Kyocera Printer on WiFi
Category: Setup · Brand: Kyocera
Most Kyocera ECOSYS models support wireless networking. Setting up Wi-Fi takes a few minutes through the printer's control panel.
Before You Start
You will need:
- Your Wi-Fi network name (SSID)
- Your Wi-Fi password
- The printer powered on and within range of your router
Method 1: Wi-Fi Setup via Control Panel
- On the printer's control panel, press Menu
- Navigate to Network Settings (or Network > Wireless LAN depending on model)
- Select Wireless LAN Setup or Wi-Fi Quick Setup
- The printer will scan for available networks — select yours from the list
- Enter your Wi-Fi password using the keypad or touchscreen
- Confirm and press OK or Connect
- The wireless indicator light will blink, then stay solid when connected
After connecting, print a Network Status Page (Menu > Report > Network Status) to confirm the printer received an IP address.
Method 2: WPS Push Button (Fastest)
If your router has a WPS button:
- Press the WPS button on your router
- Within 2 minutes, go to the printer menu: Network > Wireless LAN > WPS > Push Button
- Press OK to start — the printer connects automatically
Method 3: Kyocera Net Viewer (Windows)
Kyocera Net Viewer is a free utility that can configure network settings remotely:
- Download Kyocera Net Viewer from the Kyocera support site
- Connect the printer via USB temporarily
- Open Net Viewer and navigate to Network Settings > Wireless
- Enter your SSID and password, then apply
- Disconnect the USB — the printer will now use Wi-Fi
Connecting Your Computer to the Wi-Fi Printer
After the printer is connected to Wi-Fi:
- Install the Kyocera driver (see the Kyocera Driver Download guide)
- During installation, select Network as the connection type
- The installer will detect the printer by IP address automatically
Troubleshooting
Printer won't find the network: Make sure you are connecting to a 2.4GHz network — many Kyocera printers do not support 5GHz Wi-Fi.
IP address keeps changing: Set a static IP on the printer: Menu > Network > TCP/IP > IP Address — choose a number outside your router's DHCP range.
