Printing emails from an iPhone is straightforward using AirPrint — Apple's built-in wireless printing technology supported by hundreds of modern printers.
Print Email Using AirPrint (Mail App)
- Open the Mail app on your iPhone
- Open the email you want to print
- Tap the Reply/Share icon (curved arrow at the bottom)
- Scroll down in the share sheet and tap Print
- Tap Printer and select your AirPrint-compatible printer
- Set the number of copies and page range
- Tap Print in the top-right corner
Print Email from Gmail App
- Open the Gmail app
- Open the email
- Tap the three-dot menu (top right)
- Tap Print
- Select your printer from the list
No Printer Shown? Fix AirPrint Detection
- Ensure your iPhone and printer are on the same WiFi network
- Restart both your printer and iPhone
- Check if your printer is AirPrint-compatible (most printers made after 2012 are)
Using Printer Apps
If your printer brand has an app (HP Smart, Canon PRINT, Epson Smart Panel), you can print emails by:
- Sharing the email to the printer app
- Or forwarding the email as a PDF and printing via the app

- Tap Share > Print
- Pinch outward on the preview to convert to PDF
- Share the PDF with your preferred printer app
