Samsung printers require the correct driver to print, scan, and access all features. Since Samsung sold its printer division to HP, drivers are now hosted on both Samsung and HP's support sites.

Where to Download Samsung Printer Drivers

Samsung printer drivers are available from two official sources:

  1. Samsung Support — samsung.com/us/support (search your model number)
  2. HP Support — support.hp.com (search "Samsung [model number]")

HP acquired Samsung's printer business in 2017 and continues to release driver updates for supported models.

How to Find Your Samsung Printer Model Number

The model number is printed on a sticker on the front or bottom of the printer. Common Samsung printer series include:

  • Xpress M2020 / M2070 — compact mono laser
  • Xpress C480 / C430 — color laser
  • Xpress M3015 / M3065 — workgroup mono laser
  • ML and CLX series — older laser models

Installing the Driver on Windows

  1. Go to the support site and search your model number
  2. Select your operating system (Windows 10 / 11)
  3. Download the Full Driver & Software Package
  4. Run the downloaded .exe installer as administrator
  5. Follow the setup wizard — choose USB or Network connection
  6. Print a test page when prompted to confirm installation

Installing the Driver on Mac

  1. Download the driver package (.dmg file) from the support site
  2. Open the .dmg and run the installer
  3. Follow the prompts — enter your Mac password when asked
  4. After installation, go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners
  5. Click + to add the printer and select your Samsung model

Samsung Universal Print Driver

For network-connected Samsung printers in an office, the Samsung Universal Print Driver (UPD) supports most models from a single install:

  1. Search "Samsung Universal Print Driver" on the HP support site
  2. Download and install the UPD
  3. Add the printer via IP address through Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add a Printer

Troubleshooting Driver Installation Issues

Driver won't install: Right-click the installer and select Run as administrator. Temporarily disable antivirus software during installation.

Printer not detected after install: Ensure the printer is powered on and connected to the same network or USB port. Restart both the printer and computer.

Driver not compatible: Samsung printers running on Windows 11 may need the HP-provided driver update — check HP's support site for the latest compatible version.
